From Revere
I have a Split Entry home with a laundry room attached to the master bath. My plan is to renovate and enlarge the master bath with a walk in shower and a larger spa type tub. I plan on moving the laundry room to the lower level and have a question about the placement of the washer hookup.
I know plumbing runs under one room to the room above, so here is my question. Can I use a Mechanical Plumbing Air Admittance Vent on the washing machine when it is moved to the lower level? I googled air vents and saw them on line.
To answer your question, Mechanical Plumbing Air Admittance Vents are not legal in the state of Massachusetts. However during the renovation of the master bath you can tie into the existing vent that runs up through the ceiling or if need be, run the vent up through a wall into the attic and make the tie in there.
Sounds like you have been doing your homework but should you need anything further feel free to call me direct, Ron.
